Vendor on-boarding portal: Built with Microsoft Power Pages
Revolutionizing supplier onboarding with the help of a cutting-edge vendor portal powered by MS Power Pages. Say goodbye to paperwork and endless email chains as your new partners seamlessly integrate into your supply chain ecosystem. With streamlined processes and rapid deployment, a new era of efficiency and collaboration is guaranteed.
Business Scenario:
Parnell Aerospace (PA) is a fictional aerospace industry which is looking to diversify its supplier base. For that, the internal team at PA has developed a vendor on-boarding portal using MS Power Pages. The 3 key goals behind this vendor portal are:
-
Streamlined supplier on-boarding
-
Eliminating paperwork and multiple email exchanges
-
Faster deployment
The solution layout looks like below:

A dummy MSME named Green Projects AG (GPAG) is interested to become the supplier for Parnell Aerospace. Initially, the internal supply chain team at PA and GPAG have a short call where the members from GPAG are explained about the vendor portal and how to proceed ahead. The only details which the PA's procurement team receive are the name, contact and email id of representatives from GPAG. The process would look like below:
-
GPAG & PA have a brief call related to supplier on-boarding.
-
GPAG's 2 representatives (Anish Shiralkar & John Doe) give their contact details to PA.
-
PA's internal supply chain team inputs these details in its Power App.
-
An invitation is sent to Anish & John to upload the documents and complete the application form.
-
Anish fills out 1st application form where GPAG wants to supply hardware parts.
-
John fills out 2nd application form where GPAG wants to supply adhesives.
-
PA receives the forms and documents and now can review and update regarding the approval.

Conclusion:
In conclusion, the development of the basic vendor portal utilizing Power Pages marks the beginning of a scalable solution that can be adapted and expanded upon to meet evolving business needs. While initially conceived as a straightforward project, its completion highlights the potential for further enhancements and broader implementations across various organizational levels. With a solid foundation in place, the journey towards more sophisticated vendor management solutions is poised for continued progress and success.
Nevertheless, the solution does consist a couple of constraints from development and security aspects which need to be addressed separately.
